Creating Your Own Holiday Spiritual Practice

In one of my newsletter's (yes, I have a fabulous monthly newsletter, which you can sign up here). I spoke about keeping up with my spiritual practice while travelling! With the stress of getting to a new destination, it's no wonder we all stop checking in with our guides and/or using our divination tools. It can feel frustrating trying to allocate time when all you really want to do is lay in the sun and read that book you picked up from the airport bookshop!
What some of us fail to realise is that being consistent with our spiritual practice doesn't need to be a chore, nor does it have to be done the exact way you do it when you are home. I think that is the misconception. Recently one of my spiritual mentors Vix from New Age Hipster spoke about upping our game. If you are like me and have been coasting with your practice, then you can undoubtedly resonate!
At the end of the day, our guide are just happy that we are trying to keep the communication path open to them as regularly as possible. We all know that we can push further and enhance our practice to the best of our abilities. There does come a time when we do need to step out of the norm and engage further.
But back to what I was saying about travel. Life is busy, it is pretty tricky to keep the same routine all year round. For me there have been plenty of occasions where I didn't pull my cards at the same time I usually did and that I did my light work at the end of the day rather than the beginning. We are not bound to routines, yet having one helps keep us focus on what we really want to achieve. Oh, the dilemma I tell you!
So what can you do? Well really, you make the most of the time you have while travelling.
What I did when I travelled was:
I cleared, grounded and protected all while I had a shower.
I drew my tarot cards in between getting changed to go out for dinner, or when I couldn't do that, I pulled a card when I woke up first thing.
Every place I stayed in, I put my crystals by my bedside table. I took three small crystals with me (rose quartz, onyx and aventurine).
When I stay in hotels I try to do some yoga when I wake up, there are plenty of options on Youtube. This helped ground me for the rest of the day.
Following that, if I had to rush, I would meditate in the evening when I came back for sometimes as little as 5 minutes.
I know that my practice will change in the future as I learn new techniques to connect with the divine. But for now, this is how I keep connected both spiritually and mentally.
Travel can take a lot out of you, and it is essential to respect your body. I am not going to feel the same I do every day at home, because on holiday my energy shifts. For me, I exercise a lot more (walking upstairs to temples and exploring cities on foot for example), this means my usual evening practice will change because I am tired. Plus, we usually go out for dinner while travelling, so there is only a small window of time returning from our day before we head out again.
To help you start your holiday practice on the right foot, I created this spread below. Your guides will be able to point you in the right direction. Sometimes when need to only focus on one thing while we are away, or take away the extras that might be frustrating you.

Sending blessed magick,
xo
