This post came to me after I did a reading for a friend. It was an impulsive request from them, but deep down I knew they were rushing into it. Luckily I managed to steer the ship and give them a strong reading that left them feeling positive and ready to put things into action. Not overwhelmed by the feeling that there was so much to do.
In reality, not a lot of people are ready to hear the hard truths. Whether you agree or not, as human beings we are ruled by emotions. So there are times when we rush into something and get a little stung.
When this happens it creates a mixture of outcomes, the reader feels compelled to ensure the client gets all the information. While the client might come out feeling like they have gone through a hard wash cycle, in turn, they are not interested (or scared) in coming back.
As a tarot reader that is the last thing I want. Each person who takes up my services should walk away feeling like they have the tools to do what they need.
So that is where this post sprung to life, for those of you who have yet to purchase a service from me or any spiritual reader here is some advice before you jump in:
Think about the questions you want to ask - no matter how silly you think they might be.
Readings are an opportunity for you to ask questions that you might be afraid to ask. If knowing where to start is the issue, then write out as many questions around the topic that come to you. Vague or precise having these in hand (or on your notes on your phone), will make it easier for you to get a detailed reading from us.
You haven't built a relationship or at least open communication lines with a potential reader.
Many of you might disagree with me on this. But when I get readings I like to build some sort of connection with my reader. Having a good relationship with your reader not only creates the opportunity to have a more in-depth reading but as the client, you are going to be more comfortable with asking detailed questions.
You have doubts or a negative outlook
If you are new to readings, its only natural to have concerns and certain expectations about how it is going to go. Linking with the point above, asking questions and building a relationship with your potential reader will help you move past these negative outlooks. Once you feel confident that they are the reader for you, then it will be easy to click the book now button.
As you can see there is not much to it. Preparation is the key, communicating your intentions and working with someone who makes you feel secure.
Love and light,
