It didn’t feel like that long ago when we were celebrating the beginning of Spring! I am loving the lighter days and the raised temperatures, it has given me an amazing amount of motivation.
I did a massive cleaning session, as well as spoke to my guides and pull cards for direction. Plus I managed to create better habits at home, find cheaper and more effective alternatives to clean my house and increase my interaction with spirit a little more.
Have you made progress since Ostara? No matter how small, our intentions to bring life into our home and work is what it is all about!
Beltane is the celebration of life, light and creativity. Like Samhain, the veil between the living and spirit world is at it’s thinnest. The energy that surrounds Beltane is associated with the Sun, which is entirely appropriate as the warmer days bring forth growth, fertility and movement. It is also about plans and intentions set during Samhain & Ostara coming to fruition after the hibernation periods.
Traditional celebrations consisted of Maypoles in which a town would come together to decorate a large pole in garlands, flowers and ribbons then place it in the centre of town. Dances would be held around a maypole to encourage joy, vitality and to invite fertility and growth. There were also Maybushes which families would decorate outside their homes and around their community. Sadly these big traditions slowly faded out during the 20th century. But since the revival of new age spirituality, with practices and religions such as paganism and Wicca on the rise, more and more people are partaking in the traditions. Now you can find all types of information on how to celebrate Beltane, along with groups that meet up for the Sabbath.
If you want to participate in the Sabbath, I recommend you try making small flower crowns or even some arts and craft in which you can decorate your home with. If you are restricted for time, simply open your windows…let the light in! Maybe even add a crystal here or there to add more sparkle. Dance among the colour and feel the warmth on your face, as Summer is coming!
As always I love me a good tarot spread and I created a big one for Beltane. If you do use it, I would love to see! So please tag me on Instagram or use the hashtag #TheWaywardWitch
