What does a Rising/Ascendant sign mean? How can you apply it to your chart? This post delves into the understanding and application of a Rising/Ascendant sign.

Welcome back to my next instalment of my Astrological Series. In this post I will be talking about what a Rising Sign (or Ascendant) is and how it is applied in your natal chart.
A Rising/Ascendant Sign is an astrological sign that was present on the hour of your birthday, as apposed to the month you were born in. As an example I was born in the month of June, the astrological sun sign in the month of June is Gemini. However, in the hour I was born I had Sagittarius sign present. That means my rising/ascendant sign is Sagittarius and on the cusp of the first house, this sign represents the mask you want to present to the world/what you think you should portray in society.
The Ascendant shows our natural defenses and how we cope with day-to-day issues. The energies of the sign and condition of the Ascendant are most overt and obvious to others. The Ascendant shows an individual’s first, natural reaction to new people and situations. – Cafe Astrology
It is considered that as you age you are more likely to exhibit traits from your Moon Sign, this is based on our desire and maturity to connect intellectually.
So take a look at your natal chart and see which star sign is in your ascending/rising. If you haven’t pull your natal chart you can get one at astro.com
