Over the last few weeks, I have been watching and reading all about the coronavirus and how many have been affected or have passed during this time. I was inspired to write a post about connection and communication, when the BBC brought the post "Coronavirus - how to protect your mental health, I knew I wanted to add to this in another way.
So here is my 10 things you can do to keep connected during isolation. I created this listicle to help inspire you to try something new while you are at home. Feel free to add more ideas in the comments below!
1. Write letters to family, friend and the universe - even if your postal service is not running right now, use the internet and send an email to your loved ones. Write a petion to the universe, light with a candle and let the smoke disperse around you sending the message outside of you.
2. Start reading the books on your To Be Read list - I have a stack of books that have been gathering dust lately, books are a great escape from the world. Travel to a different land or time period. Get lost in the world of magic, learn a new skill or discovery facts you didn't know before.
3. Do a little Spring Cleaning - have you been avoiding that certain closet in your house, or wanting to look into those mysterious boxes in your garage? Why not? You might just find some wee gems in there that can light up your day.
4. Donate to charity - sometimes nothing beats donating to a charity close to your heart, you could give a monetary donation or offer to help in another way through your time or knowledge. Giving back can help with feeling useful and reduce the feeling of isolation.
5. Try out something on YouTube - Zumba, Yoga, Meditation. There are many videos about "how to do" something. I am definitely going to try the hair hacks this week!
6. Create a playlist - If you are Spotify you can create some amazing playlists or even find some amazing curated ones. Currently I am listening to the Celtic Woman playlist.
7. Listen to a podcast - There are thousands of podcasts, you can get it on apple and spotify. You can learn about history, current affairs or even just listen to two people chat about life. I am currently love listening to The Pondercast Podcast. I feel like I am sitting across from Joana. Soooo good!
8. Paint your nails a crazy colour - You know you have a colour in your collection that you hardly use, so why not put it on? Who said you cannot be dressed up to hangout in your own home?
9. Go for walks (if you are allowed to) - Even if it's around the block, a little fresh air can help you invigorate you and shake off the cabin fever.
10. Bake seasonal food - try making hot cross buns, seasonal salad, a cake that you have been eyeing up in the cookbook.
I know there are plenty more things to do, maybe I will do a witchy one later on? As always please leave your thoughts and comments below.
Love and light,
